Description: Blomstedt had long been interested in his compatriot’s symphonic works but wasn’t until he was 85 that he found the time to study them in earnest, leading to these live recordings made in concerts in December 2013 and June 2014. No longer unusual repertoire but unusual for a conductor of Blomstedt’s stature. Gothenburg Symphony; Herbert Blomstedt.
