Description: Collectors of Classical repertoire may be interested in something we didn't offer when it was first released. The largest work here may be the longest "dramatic scena" on record: a 22-minute setting from 1810 of all 120 lines of a Schiller poem whose female narrator, on her way to the scaffold, recounts the murder of her child in revenge for her abandonment by its father. The slightly shorter symphony (1805) is a worthy four-movement piece in the style of Haydn and Mozart. German texts. Anke Hoffmann (soprano), Antje Weihaas (violin), Thüringen Philharmonie Gotha; Hermann Breuer. Original 2002 release.
