Description: This Catalonian composer has no fixed stylistic fingerprint; none of these five works (written between 1969 and 1995) sounds like any of the others, which is impressive when you run from the French-tinged refinement of the Folia daliniana into the tropical, almost Villa-Lobosian warmth and sensuality of the Madrigal and then to the bracing, neo-classical-ish Concertino. Even so, the passion and the intensity of the five poems on Christ's suffering which make up the earliest piece here, come as a shock. Catalan, Italian, Spanish-English texts. Perspectives Ensemble; Angel Gil-Ordóñez.
