Description: Although the Pleyel Society disagrees with Rita Benton, the author of the Pleyel catalogue, on the date of the E Flat symphony (IPS - 1792; Benton - 1801), it's plainly an "adult" work compared to the "adolescent" D major work of 1785. If the IPS is right, this was performed in London at the time of Haydn's last visit there and, if so, it certainly belonged on the same stage. Wiener Concert-Verein; Christian Birnbaum. 2008 release.
