Description: The rarest pieces here are Decruck's 1943 four-movement sonata, a lovely, essentially lyrical piece in which the instrument often makes you think you're listening to a clarinet, and Charpentier's nine-minute Gavambodi which is one of the 72 Karnatic modes (you'll find it in the eighth cycle of his Études Karnatiques offered last month), spun out to three times the length of any of his piano treatments therefrom. Michael Ibrahim (sax), John Morrison (piano).
