Label: Acte Préalable
Description: Huber on a Polish label? He's such a pleasure to listen to, though, that it's the Swiss' own fault that they aren't recording more of his chamber music themselves! So, Acte Préalable's second Huber disc brings us two very similar sonatas - similar in their vernal freshness and youthful energy. Which is surprising given that No. 2 was published in 1878 but revised (the form recorded here) twenty years later and that No. 7 dates from 1902. More of Schumann and the young Brahms in the former perhaps but both are equally delightful. The short Poetic Pieces (averaging just over a minute in length) were composed between 1892 and 1897. Agnieszka Marucha (violin), Tomasz Pawlowski (piano).
