GIUSEPPE SAMMARTINI (1695-1750): Harpsichord Concerto in A, Flute Concertos in D & in A, Oboe Concertos No. 9 in B Flat & No. 12 in C.
Catalogue Number: 01M021
Reference: DM 8003
Description: At the time of recording, four of these concertos were world premieres; even now, only the harpsichord concerto (played on the organ) is otherwise available. It and the two oboe concertos probably date from Sammartini's time in England since their debt to Handel is plain; the flute concertos, simpler, are most likely from his early years in Milan. Donatella Bianchi (harpsichord), Paolo Ferrigato (flute), Franceso Quaranta (oboe), I Musici Ambrosiani; Paolo Suppa. Original 1999 Dynamic release.
