Description: Polish baroque music from church and court, exhibiting a mostly Italianate influence since many Italian musicians were employed at both sacred and secular Polish institutions (Luparini is the token actual Italian - the rest is influence with Mielczewski's bright and cheerful Canzona admitting some very appealing Polish folk styles). Half of the pieces are for soprano, violins and continuo, the others purely instrumental. Latin texts. Ensemble Alla Polacca.
