Description: None of these trios are listed in Haydn's own works-list but they have been authenticated since many more sources of Haydn's music became available after World War II. No. 25 is the only four-movement trio and anticipates later symphonies and quartets. Some of these works are longer and more texturally complex, suggesting Haydn's late quartet style, although some movements also look quite a bit earlier in their quasi-fugal entries over a basso continuo line.
