Notes for January 2007

Number of items in this month's catalogue: 9

1. NEW DELIVERY AND HANDLING CHARGES: For three or four years I've been losing money on shipping orders larger than 3 lbs. in weight. DHL and the other couriers will be raising their rates again as of Jan. 8 and the U.S. Postal Service has been muttering about another rate hike around the end of February. I can no longer go on both offering prices below my competitors and losing money on shipping. Thus, the shipping charges have been redesigned and streamlined (see back of catalogue in usual place for details). While this will make shipping for orders in the range of 10-18 or so CDs more expensive, the rates are still competitive with the competition and much less expensive than one on-line competitor (who charges $2.00 per disc period). I will be using DHL more frequently as the USPS has had some real problems in the last half of 2006 and DHL provides automatic tracking and insurance. Customers with P.O. boxes will still receive their orders via USPS. The Media Mail option for the least expensive shipping possible (any number of discs short of the free shipping plateau) is still available for you to choose.
