Description: The strong pastoral element in English 20th century music is to the forefront with only the third available modern recording of Moeran's ravishingly beautiful concerto, followed by Delius's equally lovely eight-minute Legende and the rarely recorded Song of the Night, an early work by Holst (1905) predating his discovery of English folk music but not out of place in this attractive list of compositions. Tasmin Little (violin), BBC Philharmonic; Andrew Davis.
