Description: The theme here is music for or about children and, luckily, half of it is rare repertoire: Cras' suite was originally written for six tiny hands (his three daughters) before being transcribed for four in 1918. The "Children's Souls" here are "Naïves", "Pures" and "Mystérieuses". Ladmirault, a Breton by birth, worked in Celtic musical styles throughout his life, none so immediately recognizable as the "Arrival of the Campbells" which begins his 14-minute Gaelic Rhapsody of 1909! Laurent Boukobza, Jean-Pierre Ferey (piano).
