Description: Bridge's only two concertante works date from 1930 and 1931, Oration an expression of the anger and pain caused by the First World War (all the more striking for its being couched in Bridge's "radical" late style), and Phantasm , whose haunting waltz and spectral marches contemporary audiences found so hard to understand.
