Description: Composed for the 1857 carnival season of La Fenice and based on the historical novel “The Last Days of Pompei”, this Dramma lirico takes an unusually severe hiding in Opera Grove (then why does it have its own entry?), leading us to believe that the ivory tower is even further away from the public than usual because Jone held a place in the repertory for 50 years and two of its arias were recorded back in the acoustic era. 2 CDs.
