Description: A brand-new, live 2006 recording of Transitus Animae (1907) where mezzo-soprano represents the Soul who appears before God at the moment of transition to Eternity while the chorus pronounces various prayers for the suffering in music of crystalline purity and artless polyphonic simplicity. The coupling is an 11-minute polyphonically elaborate setting of 19 lines from Dante's Purgatorio.
