Description: This 17-year-old recording acquainted us with various of J.S. Bach's students, demonstrating that they were stylistically heterogeneous, from Krebs' close adherence to his master's style to the various explorations in Empfindsam and galant styles by Kirnberger and Abel, Goldberg's apprentice work, thought to be by Bach and given the BWV number of 1037. Müthel stands alone, his individualism like C.P.E.'s in nature if not in kind. Wilbert Hazelet (transverse flute), Jacques Ogg (harpsichord), Jaap ter Linden (cello). Original 1997 Glossa release.
