Description: The Sixth (1947) is Malipiero's most widely performed symphony; the Fifth has a concertante part for two pianos and juxtaposes chamber and orchestral textures, sometimes with biting dissonance; The Eighth (1964) is hardly brevis - it's longer thatn Nos. 5 and 11 - and is colorfully scored; No. 11 (1969), which, at 12 minutes, is short, gains its subtitle from drone-like ostinati.
