CARL GOTTLIEB REISSIGER (1798-1859): Piano Trios No. 7 in E, Op. 85 and No. 15 in G, Op. 164.
Catalogue Number: 08L046
Reference: HCD 32488
Description: The dates of composition of these trios are unknown (they were published during the 1840s but presumably were written farther apart than a few years) but the style is pure Biedermeier: romantic drawing-room music mixing some of Weber's operatic glitter with the more pastel elements of Mendelssohn's lyric miniatures. The works, though, are not small-scale - they are both in four movements and last 35 and 32 minutes. Trio Art Nouveau.
