IGNAZIO CIRRI (1711-1787): 6 Sonatas for Harpsichord and Violin, Op. 2.
Catalogue Number: 07U025
Reference: PAS 1045
Description: Although Cirri never left his native Italian town of Forli, these sonatas were published in London in 1740, likely through the agency of his more peripatetic younger brother. They are three-movement pieces in the galant style, notable for their elegance, brilliance and wealth of ornamentation with the violin only once stepping forward from its strictly accompanying role. Filippo Pantieri (harpsichord), Luca Giardini (violin).
