Catalogue Number: 07M023
Reference: A 356
Description: Caldara was a cellist originally and these sonatas are one of only three sets of instrumental works by him to survive. The others are early; these date from 1735 and exalt the expressive, "vocal" characteristics of the cello with the style embracing both the high baroque of Caldara's youth and the new galant style. Gaetano Nasillo (cello), Luca Guglielmi (harpsichord, 1726 Cristofori fortepiano), Sara Bennici (cello).
