Description: Collectors of Hummel's Mozart transcriptions will enjoy Czerny's as well, the latter using two violas in addition to the other forces which Hummel also used and which gives the work a deeper sound. One misses the orchestra less while the piece sounds more like authentic chamber music. Hoffmeister doubles single lines, adds more complicated accompaniment figures and fills in the harmonies in his turning of piano sonatas into flute quartets. Chamber Soloists of Austin.
