Description: Although he lived and worked at the Catholic court in Dresden, Naumann also provided choral works for a Protestant court in Mecklenberg-Schwerin, examples of which are these two psalm settings from 1784 and 1790. Large-scale, in multiple movements, they have the flavor of opera in many of their arias and contrast with the little, tranquil and simple five-minute setting of the 95th Psalm made, also in 1790, for a small religious group in the Sudenten mountains. German-English texts. Bettina Eismann (soprano), Elisabeth Wilke (alto), Werner Güra (tenor), Egbert Junghanns (bass), Körnerscher Sing-verein Dresden, Dresdner Instrumental-Concert; Peter Kopp.
