Description: Those of you who know that Maciejewski spent 1951-77 in the U.S. (including a position as music director at the MGM movie studio), may want to spring for this disc even though his contribution totals only 18 minutes. His Mazurkas were written over the whole course of his life, beginning in 1928, and they follow the Polish tradition and that of Szymanowski most closely as the coupling of four mazurkas by the latter make clear.
