Description: Scelsi completists will want to hear the 16-minute Divertimento from 1938 when the composer was experimenting with different styles and influences; two of its five movements show an interest in the Second Vienna School. The piano suite is also early (1939), tending toward the fast and energetic with Scelsi exploring all manners of articulation, attack and release, with carefully notated pedal markings; aphoristic gestures collide with violent outbursts in music which still has time for shimmering textures and a few hard-won moments of repose. Marco Fusi (violin), Anna D’Errico (piano).
