Description: The second volume brings two more of the eight "Vienna quartets" in which Reicha engaged creatively with his friend Beethoven's just-published Op. 18 quartets, alluding to and critiquing the latter's style, keys, homages to Mozart and more. A series which should put Reicha up there along with Beethoven as a string quartet composer. Tons of notes by two different writers can't but convince you of that - along with the music, of course.
