Description: Written mostly between 1910-12, these songs are largely concerned with themes of life and love and are accordingly lively and heartfelt. There are also evocations of nature, a dip into "popular music" of the period with the "Red Seven" Cabaret triptych and even a gloomy setting of Poe's The Sleeper.
