Description: Only the double concerto here is otherwise available on disc. Agrell's music was always forward-looking; his early oboe concerto is quite up-to-date with the latest Italian imports (he spent his entire professional career in Kassel and then Nuremberg but this concerto may have predated his leaving Sweden) while his A major symphony is a fully-fledged, four-movement early Classical work as is the late violin concerto. The other works manage to marry Italian and Empfindsamkeit influences in an original way.
