The work just turned up in the last few years, missing the overture, and it is full of melody - Italian bel canto, Germany symphonic style, quadrille, galop, romance, chansonnette, Spanish elements, martial sounds. It might be the more interesting for being available only in this form - who knows? Le Salon Romantique.
