Description: This horrifyingly expensive label with a very ironic name offers gorgeous, Spanish folk-inspired music from the Halffter brother exiled in Mexico and Portuguese-sourced music from the one domiciled in that country, beautifully orchestrated, aching with nostalgia. Bautista's "Three Cities" are equally folk-inspired but his 21-minute symphony (1956) might be the real find - no overt folk influences but rhythmically exciting in its outer movements which hurtle along like runaway trains and with a ten-minute slow movement whose delicate melodies and textures gradually build into greater complexity. No texts. Extremadura Symphony Orchestra; Jesús Amigo.
