Description: We were introduced to Radecke last May (05R001) with one of his symphonies. Now we get chamber music from this Brahms contemporary: regardless of their high opus numbers, both trios are early, the first already finished by 1851 and the second with a first movement from 1853 but the final two of the four not written until 1868. Schumann and Mendelssohn are the expected influences and are just what you get, less nervous than the former and as lyrical and melodic as the latter; the second is one of the prettiest piano trios you’ll hear from this period. Trio Fontane.
