Description: If this mass from somewhere in the 1690s doesn’t invigorate you like ice water on a baking hot day, you’re probably dead. Two clarinos, two cornets and four trumpets mainline the mass’ joyous message and three boy sopranos, two male altos, two tenors and two basses provide both polyphonic and homophonic vocal riches and strings, three trombones, timpani and two organs cruise the lower ranges. The couplings are special too - especialy the raucous peasant celebrations of the Pastorella and the scordatura-enhanced Hic est panis. St. Florianer Sängerknaben and other adult singers, Ars Antiqua Austria; Gunar Letzbor (violin).
